Bookcrossing Bookplates! :: Jan 7, 2005

I designed a 4-up bookplate for BookCrossing.com, which you can download here. You can see a preview image below...

The full PDF file has 4 bookplates per 8.5x11 page... You can print them on full-sheet adhesive label paper, and cut them apart. For perfectly even margins, set Acrobat (or Acrobat Reader) NOT to "shrink oversize pages to fit", make sure your paper setting is "letter" not "letter-small".

I took the limbs off of Pamela Coleman Smith's 1909 Tarot "Fool" card art, and attached them to an edited photo of an antique leather-bound book... it's kind of an 'old world' version of the BookCrossing 'running book' image also shown on the labels.

And thanks to Moem with BookCrossers.nl, for doing a Dutch translation of the design (which you can download here).

FAQmarks :: Jan 10, 2005

Jumbo FAQmarks! A bit of a "please register" sales pitch on the front, and a few Frequently Asked (wondered?) Questions on the back, to calm the doubts of novices who stumble across a BookCrossing label.

Made to match the 4-up bookplates, the Jumbo FAQmarks print 3-up on 8.5x11in. paper... plenty large enough that no-one should be able to miss them when they pick up a registered book. Download the PDF here (in English).

These print double sided... it is a 2 page PDF, with 3 copies of the front of the bookmarks on page one, and 3 copies of the FAQ side on page 2.
