knittery: the amazing technicolor dream hat

Because only a hat this incredibly brightly colored could pull off a name like that. However, it likes to go by "Crazy Lady Hat" for short. It's excellent. I bet it glows in the dark, and reflects car headlights, and sends color-coded alien messages into space.

Crazy Lady Hat
Wow. That's bright! And so well-fitted!

Thanks a billion to Crazy Aunt Purl's Easy Roll Brim Hat pattern. Not only do I now have this uber-cool tacky hat (that actually fits! like it was made for me!), but I have proven to myself that it is possible to knit a small circle with two pair of circular needles instead of venturing into the scary world of double-pointed needles.

So damn cool
Lookie! Magic knitting kung-fu!

Yay! My sock knitting book wasn't lying! Cat Bordhi, I love you! Now I feel like a truly super-magical knitting goddess. Or I'm just getting giddy because it's almost 3am. And I haven't even been drinking.

Either way, goddess or lunatic, I have been wearing my hat non-stop since I finished taking pictures of it. If wacky hats are going to be the visual centerpiece of my new crazy lady identity-in-the-making, I've got to start practicing now. It's nice and keeps my head feeling warm. And it will probably stop traffic if I suddenly run out into the middle of the road.

is saying something funny to her.
