I have, on more than one ocassion here, mentioned Crazy Aunt Purl, my favoritest knitting-muse blogger ... she doesn't actually write about knitting all that often, but hey, good enough for me, 'cause neither do I.

So, anyhow, her grandmother recently went into a nursing home, it seems, and so the wonderful online knitting community is pitching in to make her an afghan (and possibly, thanks to the number of people signing up—and there's still time for YOU to sign up too!—a few other folks at the same home). In other knitting news, photos and dedicated entry to come, I have finished the reknitting of the front side of The Ugliest Sweater Ever. It is now a contender, I think, for the Funkiest/Sexiest Sweater Ever, so I think the repair was a success. As soon as I finish the little matching shrug, I'll take "after" photos (I was SO IMPRESSED with the overwhelming ugliness of v1.0, I made sure to take a "before" shot before unraveling the offending half!), and post them.
